Tapilula is located at a height of 780 meters above sea level in the municipality of Tapilula in Chiapas, Mexico. Its geographic location is at latitude: 17.248611 and longitude: -93.016667.

Population

Tapilula is populated by 7441 people. The total population consists of 517 children aged 0 to 2 years, 501 aged 3 to 5 years, 932 children aged 6 to 11 years, 499 teenagers between 12 and 14 years and 548 aged 15 to 17 years. The number of adult people aged 18 to 24 is 1040, in the age group of 25 to 60 years are 2852 people and the over 60 years old people are represented by 552 people.

Dividing the overall population of 7441 inhabitants in only three age groups result in: 2449 people aged 0 to 14, 4606 people aged 15 to 64 and 385 people aged 65 or more years. The male-female ratio is 93.12 men per 100 woman and the birth rate (fertility rate) is 2.47 children per woman.

Indigenous population

In Tapilula are known 724 people in censal housholds, where the head or his partner speaks an indigenous language. In the group of children 3 years and older 267 speak an indegenous language, 2 speaking an indigenous language but not spanish and 220 people who do speak both, spanish and an indigenous language. For the age group 5 years and older these numbers are 264, 2 and 219 people.

While 5116 people have access to one of the social security systems in Mexico, about 2297 individuals are without health insurance.

Access to the services of the Mexican Social Security Institute IMSS have 180 people. 447 people do have the right to access the ISSTE, 22 find their security at ISSSTE and 4395 have access to the public health insurance, Seguro Popular.

Marital Status
